Speaker: Jason D. Tripp, CFP®, FCEP
Jason is the Executive Director of Gift Planning at Syracuse University and has been advising individuals on financial matters for over 20 years, first as a Financial Advisor and Certified Financial Planner® in private practice where he focused on business succession planning, individual and group retirement planning and personal estate planning. After a successful exit from the for-profit space, he transitioned into the philanthropic advising sector of Gift Planning first at his alma mater, Cornell University, as a Senior Gift Planning Officer where he was for 8 years, then as a Senior Associate Director of Gift Planning at Dartmouth College before coming to Syracuse. As a committed lifelong learner, he has earned numerous certificates and designations over the years, such as a Certificate in Retirement Planning from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, the Financial Planning certification program through Kaplan University, and is a Fellow in Charitable Estate Giving through the Charitable Estate Planning Institute as well as maintaining his Certified Financial Planner® designation through ongoing continuing education courses. His passion for philanthropy is rooted personal experience and his core belief that Good People find joy in helping others. His area of specialty is “Asset-Based Philanthropy” which is a framework to educate donors and fundraisers that success in philanthropic pursuits typically lies outside of a person’s checkbook.
